Spicy Saltine “Fire Crackers”
A favorite in our tasting room – a spicy, savory snack made with seasoned saltine crackers. A lot of flavor with a little heat – the best cracker you will ever eat! Let us show you how to make them for yourself.
Ingredients:
- 4 sleeves of saltine crackers
- 1 cup of olive oil
- 2 Tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
- 1-2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Optional: garlic powder, onion powder, or any other spices you enjoy
Instructions:
- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a bowl, mix the vegetable oil with the ranch dressing mix and any additional spices.
- Coat the Crackers:
- Place the saltines in a large resealable plastic bag or a container with a lid.
- Pour the oil mixture over the crackers, seal the bag or container, and gently shake or toss to coat them evenly.
- Let Them Sit:
- Allow the crackers to sit for at least 30 minutes, shaking the bag occasionally to ensure even coating. For a stronger flavor, let them sit for a few hours or even overnight.
- Bake (Optional):
- If you prefer a crunchier texture, preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and spread the crackers on a baking sheet. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cool and Serve:
••Let the crackers cool before serving. Enjoy your spicy saltine crackers as a snack!
